Apple not too keen on big tablets any more

by on14 July 2015

Orders slowing down

Fruity cargo cult Apple is not that keen on placing orders for its 12.9-inch iPad, despite claims that "bigger is better" could save the tech.

The outfit wanted to flog the super tablet in mid-November, but Digitimes said that the company appears cautious about placing related orders and the initial shipment volume is much lower than most market watchers' expectations.

The tablet will be manufactured by Foxconn, but tablet demand is plummeting and Apple does not want to be stuck with another iWatch fiasco in the same year.
Sales of the iPad, white-box and brand tablets have all been seriously impacted as the world suddenly realises how pointless tablets are. Strong popularity of smartphones with 5-inch and above displays plus the fact that tablet still has to find a killer app.

Most tablet players may see difficulties achieving their shipment goals for 2015 or making profits from the product line. Some white-box players are relying on Intel's subsidies to keep their operation in the tablet market.
