Well, there’s silly and there’s paying back for silly, with HTC’s latest lawsuit perhaps leaning more towards the latter. After buying patents from Google last week, HTC decided to file a fresh complaint against Apple with the US ITC.

The complaint claims that Apples computers and mobiles infringe patents related to Wi-Fi and processor communication. HTC’s general counsel Grace Leis said that HTC is suing Apple to protect the company’s intellectual company, its partners and customers. 

Analysts claim that the move shows that this is more than just a simple fight and is slowly turning into Android vs. Apple. Analyst Andrew Milroy claimed that tighter cooperation between HTC, Samsung and Google would create a strong rival to Apple.
