OCZ has officially announced its Vertex 2 and Agility 2 solid state drives that will be available in 50, 100, 200GB capacities. Both drives use new Sandforce controllers and are based on MLC NAND memory chips with some quite impressive maximum read and write speeds.

A few days ago we wrote about these two as they started to appear in retail, and back then we had info that these new Sandforce based SSDs are going to be available pretty soon. The Agility 2 features maximum read and write speeds of up to 285MB/s and 275MB/s and 10,000 IOPS for random write 4k performance.

The Vertex 2 is a bit more impressive as it uses a faster SF-1500 Sandforce controller with same maximum read and write speeds of 285 and 275MB/s but has a quite higher 4k random write set at 50,000 IOPS.
