Intel plans super fast 25nm SSDs
Lyndonville in Q1 2011
Intel hasn’t launched a new super high performance SSDs since the X25-E a while back, and even today the 32GB and 64GB products from this series are the best drives that money can buy.
The X25-E drives are enterprise series and with read and write speeds of 250MB/s and 170MB/s respectively, read these SLC drives are currently the fastest SSDs Intel has to offer, at least when it comes to single controller drives with no internal RAID.
The current drives are manufactured in the old 50nm SLC process, but this should change in Q1 2011. The new drives are branded as Lyndonville and there are three new drives.
The smallest drive will launch in 100GB, the second in row will launch in 200GB and the biggest one will launch with massive 400GB capacity. These drives are based on 25nm enterprise MLC process and we expect some quite impressive speeds.
