It pays to read the small print

It appears that the legal types working for Amazon are taking no chances and have worked in what is expected of developers during a Zombie apocalypse into the terms and conditions of its new game-development software Lumberyard.

According to the International Business Times, mention of Zombie apocalypse is buried near the end of a 26,000-word explanation of restrictions for using Lumberyard, Amazon's free open-source software for making video games. This is after you have waded through statements like the software isn't intended for use with "life-critical or safety-critical systems."

However you are allowed to do so if the US Centres for Disease Control declares a zombie apocalypse.

According to Amazon a zombie apocalypse can be defined as a “widespread viral infection transmitted via bites or contact with bodily fluids that causes human corpses to reanimate and seek to consume living human flesh, blood, brain or nerve tissue and is likely to result in the fall of organized civilization."

If this happens you can use Lumberyard to run your driverless car or to run the software on your aging mother's kidney machine.
