X85 5G Modem-RF platform designed to enhance 5G

Qualcomm has been using the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona to show off its latest connectivity and artificial intelligence (AI) advancements, including the Qualcomm X85 5G Modem-RF platform, designed to enhance 5G performance.

The Qualcomm X85 5G Modem-RF platform integrates on-chip AI processing hardware and improved spectrum management, delivering peak download speeds of up to 12.5 Gbps.

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said: "For 40 years, Qualcomm has been a leader in next-generation wireless technologies, from 3G to 5G and now into 5G Advanced. At MWC 2025, we continue to be the company setting the benchmark for cellular connectivity, and the Qualcomm X85 5G Modem-RF ensures connectivity leadership for the Android ecosystem."

Qualcomm Senior Vice President and General Manager Durga Malladi said: "The Qualcomm X85 boasts on-chip integrated AI processing hardware and improved spectrum management, delivering unmatched 5G performance and user experiences."

In addition to the X85 platform, Qualcomm introduced the Qualcomm Dragonwing Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) Gen 4 Elite Platform, the world's first 5G Advanced FWA platform, aiming to deliver ultra-fast wireless mobile broadband.

The company announced collaborations to drive enterprise-grade AI solutions and Open RAN deployments, underscoring its commitment to advancing AI integration across networks and devices.
