According to the preview, the MI355X will further increase memory capacity, bring new architecture with further increase in AI performance, as well as bring support for new FP4/FP6 datatypes. According to the specifications provided by AMD, the Instinct MI355X and the MI355X Platform, will bring significant increase in memory, offering up to 288GB per GPU and 2.3TB of HBM3E for platform, with memory bandwidth of up to 64TB/s.
When it comes to compute performance, the MI355X platform will provide 18.5 PFLOPs of FP16, 37 PFLOPs of FP8, and 74 PFLOPs of the new FP6/FP4 compute performance. According to AMD, this is a 7.4x increase in compute performance, a 1.5x increase in memory capacity, and a six times increase in model size, compared to the MI300X.
As said, AMD expected the Instinct MI355X Platform to be available in H2 2025, while the next-gen Instinct MI400 series is scheduled to come in 2026, based on the CDNA Next architecture.
