The 11GHz memory chips, paired up with a 256-bit memory interface on the GTX 1080, will allow the 8GB of GDDR5X memory on the Geforce GTX 1080 FTW2 and the GTX 1080 SC2 to hit a maximum memory bandwidth of 352.51GB/s, improving the performance even further.

In addition to the new higher-clocked memory chips, the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 and the GTX 1080 SC2 also come with EVGA's latest dual-slot, dual-fan, iCX Technology cooler which has nine thermal sensors and multiple MCUs as well as offer asynchronous fan control, interactive cooling with thermal display system and optimized airflow with the new heatsink design.

EVGA has also released an optional BIOS update for earlier available EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 FTW2 iCX, GTX 1080 FTW DT iCX, GTX 1080 SC2 iCX and GTX 1080 iCX graphics cards. EVGA notes that a small number of cards may not be stable in this new performance mode. Those running on GTX 1080 FTW2 graphics cards have an option to flash one of two BIOS', which should make things easier. You can check out more details over at EVGA's forum post.

Currently, the EVGA GTX 1080 SC2 is available via EVGA webshop for US $570, while the GTX 1080 FTW2 is listed at the same price for pre-order.
