According to the release notes, the new Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.4.1 driver adds support for Oculus' Asynchronous Spacewarp (ASW) on Radeon R9 Fury series, Radeon R9 390 series and Radeon R9 290 series graphics cards as well as support for SteamVR Asynchronous Reprojection on Radeon RX 480 and Radeon RX 470 graphics products on Microsoft Windows 10.

In case you missed it back when it was announced, the Asynchronous Spacewarp, which is the next generation of the Asynchronous Timewarp, analyses two previous images and creates an artificial "space warped" frame while considering the new physical position of the headset in space and should remove the so-called positional stuttering. AMD already added the support for Oculus' Asynchronous Spacewarp (ASW) on Polaris 10 GPUs earlier and this time extended it to R9 Fury, R9 390 and R9 290 series graphics cards.

The driver also added support for SteamVR Asynchronous Reprojection on RX 480 and RX 470 graphics cards on Windows 10 OS, which reduces judder in order to provide smoother and more comfortable VR experience on the HTC Vive VR headset.

In addition to the support for Asynchronous Spacewarp (ASW) and Asynchronous Reprojection, the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.4.1 driver also adds support for DP1.4 HBR3, 8K 60Hz dual cable and 8K 30Hz single cable display technologies.

The fixed bug list is rather short and includes fixed display flickering on some AMD FreeSync displays when running apps in windowed borderless fullscreen, fixed system hang problems when AMD XConnect is unpluged after Radeon Software installation, fixed issues with Radeon Settings installation that could become stuck or unresponsive when doing a driver upgrade through Radeon Settings and fixed poor multi-GPU scaling difficulties with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands on some multi-GPU enabled system configurations.
