Nvidia confirms that GTX 1080 Ti is coming

Club Geforce Elite as well

Nvidia has practically confirmed the existence of the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti by posting a job listing on LinkedIn, which also mentions Club Geforce Elite as well, a subscription-based service that will give certain bonuses.

While the aforementioned job posting on LinkedIn does not reveal any details regarding the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, it does pretty much confirm it by a simple line that mentions that "980 Ti users get first spot in line for 1080 Ti pre-orders, or Step Up offer".

The Geforce GTX 1080 Ti has been rumored for quite some time and it should be a cheaper version of the earlier launched Nvidia Titan X Pascal, which is currently priced at around US $1,200.
Although it has pretty much cut down the VRAM amount to half when making lower priced Titan versions, which should leave the GTX 1080 Ti with 6GB, this will not be possible since the GTX 1080 already packs 8GB, so we expect the GTX 1080 Ti to have 10GB of GDDR5X VRAM and a narrower 320-bit memory interface.

As noted, the GTX 1080 Ti should end up with the same 16nm GP102 Pascal GPU, as the Titan X, but with a lower number of SM units, leaving it at anywhere between 2560 CUDA cores on the GTX 1080 and 3584 CUDA cores on the Titan X.

The GTX 1080 Ti should also have a similar TDP to the Titan X, so we expect it to end up with 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors.

The biggest unknown is the price, but we would not be surprised to see the GTX 1080 Ti launched at somewhere around US $999. As a rather big surprise, Nvidia plans to market the GTX 1080 Ti as a step-up card for GTX 980 Ti users, which will also get the first spot in line for the GTX 1080 Ti, leaving GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 somewhat in an awkward situation, at least for the time being.

The same LinkedIn job post also revealed something that Nvidia calls the Club Geforce Elite, a subscription-based service which will give users better game bundles, including a "rotating bundle of free games from our GFE app store (4x games per quarter)", a "free GeForce PC in the cloud subscription" and an "exclusive skins, in-game items, and Geforce Gear". It will also give users access to weekly giveaways and prizes and much more, giving users benefits outside of Geforce Experience.

This pretty much makes the Club Geforce Elite as a paid premium Geforce Experience that will give them some nice goodies and allow Nvidia to grow its user base and even earn some bucks from it.

While there were no dates mentioned, we expect the GTX 1080 Ti to launch sometime early next year or in time for Nvidia to both provide some competition to the upcoming AMD Vega-based graphics cards as well as beat it to the market.
