Ouya has become the first console infrastructure to accept Bitcoin payments for purchases on its platform. Bitcoin is a digital currency that has become quite the popular talk around techies over the past several months.

With an announcement posting on Twitter, Ouya posted a picture of a transaction screen where Bitcoin is shown as a payment option. While Ouya has added Bitcoin, it still is working on getting PayPal support added. Julie Uhman, Ouya’s CEO added that they are still working on getting PayPal supported added, but it is coming.

Ouya claims that interest from the Ouya community led to the decision to add Bitcoin payment support. It remains to be seen how exactly popular Bitcoing payment will actually be.
