Driverless Waymo cars sing to each other at night

Neighbours furious

For the past few weeks, in what might be seen as a prelude to a robot takeover,  driverless Waymo cars have been gathering in a San Francisco car parking lot to sing to each other.

A parking lot filled with driverless Waymo cars has experienced multiple incidents in which the vehicles seemingly become confused and start honking at each other.

It starts at about 4 am, when the humans are asleep, although they do not stay that way for long.

Several people living in buildings near the parking lot complain about disrupted sleep.

Others have noticed that the honking incidents have occurred at random times during both day and night.

In a statement sent to ABC7 News, Waymo said:

"We know that in some scenarios, our vehicles may briefly honk while navigating our parking lots. We have identified the cause and are in the process of implementing a fix."

Apparently, they are not howling like wolves or planning a takeover of the world… yet.
