Early Realme GT 7 Pro benchmark tests hint at overheating issues

Getting a little too hot

The Realme GT 7 Pro reportedly ran too warm during benchmark tests, and the word on the street is that it might be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite chips to blame.

When details of the Realme GT 7 Pro first emerged it was touted as having a dual VC cooling chamber meant for heat dissipation so things should have been really cool.

Early benchmark tests on the device conducted by Android Authority and Digital Trends report that the Realme GT 7 Pro got warm during benchmarking, particularly when running the 3DMark Stress Test.

A message reading, “Your phone is hot” appeared during benchmarking which the reviewers did not think was the phone trying to flirt with them.

Phones tend to get warm during benchmarks, but it has become rare that these days, the tests stop the benchmarking process in the middle because it is running too hot.

Outside of benchmarks, there doesn’t seem to be as much heating. During a 30-minute gaming session in high-performance mode and screen brightness at full, there was only a “hint of increased heat,” notes Digital Trends.

Reports indicate that the Realme GT 7 Pro is probably manipulating the benchmarks to get the desired results. This could be the reason for the overheating issues.

The Realme GT 7 Pro is one of the first devices to ship with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
