At its  Computex keynote Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said his firm had captured video of a "very special person" preordering a Windows Copilot+ laptop built with a Snapdragon X Elite chip.

In the clip, we see Long typing on an Apple MacBook at home and getting annoyed by all the incoming notifications, which include warnings that his laptop only has a 1% battery life and is running out of disk space.

Long types in a search for "Where can I find a Snapdragon-powered PC?" and then stares at the camera, looking a bit ashamed, before saying: "What? Things change."

Amon then returned to the stage to tell the Computex audience: "Yes, things change."

While it remains uncertain if Long will feature in more Qualcomm ads, the Tame Apple Press is clearly rattled by his 'switch of allegiance '. In 2021, he broke free from the Apple cult and participated in an Intel ad campaign, humorously referencing his 'I’m a Mac' tagline from the old Apple commercials. The fact Long does this for a living means he has to take other work and unless Apple is going to keep him on a retainer then he is available.

Qualcomm, a new contender in the PC chip market, is making bold claims about its Snapdragon X Elite chips, asserting they will outperform rival chips from Intel and Apple. As these chips are set to power new Windows laptops launching later this month, consumers can anticipate a wave of marketing from Qualcomm.
