The potentially flaming battery on Shield tablet has caused Nvidia to replace most of its tablets in the world, and now the replacement tablets are starting to show up.

Jen-Hsun Huang confirmed in company's financial Q2 conference call that the Tegra found its way under the bonnet of 30 million cars. 

Automotive helped 

Nvidia just announced its financial Q2 2016 scores and they are better than anyone expected, thanks mostly to a sterling performance from Geforce. 

Not a high-resolution console

Next week will be full of product launches, as we expect to officially see HTC One M9, Samsung Galaxy S6, as well as many other phones and some tablets.

But that’s good news -- really.

Nvidia had a record Q4 and record financial year but tanking Tegra did not really help.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Nvidia is working on a new iteration of the Shield tablet.
