A moment ago, Intel´s CEO Pat Gelsinger announced the start of high-volume manufacturing on the Intel 4 process technology at Fab 34 in Leixlip, Ireland.
Sierra Forest with 288 cores hits the stage

Intel surprised the audience at the Innovation 2023 event, showing a new Sierra Forest data center processor with a twist. Intel has previously announced that the Sierra Forest has up to 144 Efficiency cores. Still, Gelsinger surprised the audience by showing the two tiles on the same package, resulting in a 288-core CPU.

Intel updates its Xeon roadmap
144-core Sierra Fores and Clearwater Forest on 18A
Intel held its Data Center and AI Investor webinar earlier today, updating its Xeon roadmap, and showing progress on its P-core Xeon and E-core Xeon lineups. The big surprise was the E-core Xeon lineup, the 144-core Sierra Forest Xeon, coming in 1H 2024, and the Clearwater Forest Xeon lineup, scheduled for 2025 on Intel 18A manufacturing process. The P-Core Xeon lineup is on track with Emerald Rapids in Q4 2023, and Granite Rapids, closely following Sierra Forest in 2024.
